Match the seller to the maker’s list
XYcolo lists nine stores on a vendor page on its own site (September 2026). Open it from XYcolo’s own store, never from an ad or email.

Reverse-search the photos
Run the product photos through Google Lens, or TinEye sorted by “Oldest”. If they appeared years earlier on other pages, ask for photos of the actual doll.

TPE is the usual way to save. Owners describe it as softer, and its mold seam can be smoothed out, where a silicone seam stays visible. TPE is also more porous and releases oil, so it picks up dye from dark clothing faster and softens with heat.
XYcolo’s route for a tighter budget is the PS grade, which keeps you in silicone, with its slower staining and stability with heat. Weight barely changes either way: the median full-size listing weighs 37 kg (82 lb) in TPE and 35 kg (77 lb) in silicone.
