In 2026 a sex bot is a lifelike doll with a talking AI head, and bodies that move on their own are still prototypes. The realism you can buy today comes from the body, and XYcolo builds it in silicone, with a choice of heads and optional heating.

What a sex bot is in 2026
A sex bot, or sex robot, is sold as a doll that talks, reacts and moves. What you can buy in 2026 is narrower: a lifelike doll with a talking AI head run through an app, sometimes with touch sensors and body heating. The body does not walk or move on its own.
Wikipedia’s 2026 entry on sex robots puts it the same way: no fully animated sex robots exist yet, and current prototypes are rudimentary. They can speak, show facial expressions and respond to touch. Everything else you notice, from the skin to the weight in your arms, comes from the doll underneath.
What is on sale: talking heads, sensors, heat
Type
What it does
Price, as reported
Talking AI doll
Speaks through a language model and is advertised as reading and mimicking emotions; one 2025 series lists 32 wireless sensors
$1,600–2,000, top versions about $3,000, plus a subscription from $100 for the first year
AI head with an app, 2017–2018
Blinks, smiles, frowns and holds a conversation
About $15,000
Humanoid companion robot
A head and upper body only, or a full-size robot that moves
From $10,000 for head and torso; from $175,000 for a moving full-size robot
Heated XYcolo doll
Built-in heating warms the silicone body over 1.5–2 hours
An add-on; about $450 at full price in 2022
Talking AI dolls went on sale in China in 2025. China Daily reported in March that the first 200 dolls of one AI series sold out at $1,600–2,000; the features in that report are the seller’s own claims, with no independent tests.
When a store says “Chinese sex robot”, expect this kind of product: a smart head on an ordinary doll body, with the full AI feature set tied to an app subscription. The body decides how the doll looks and feels for years, while the app can change with every update.
Where the hype outruns the product
Real in 2026
Conversation through an AI app, often with a subscription
Facial expressions on some heads, such as blinking and smiling
Touch sensors that let the doll react to touch
Built-in heating that warms the body in one and a half to two hours
Still hype
A body that walks, sits down or changes pose on its own
A doll that knows how you feel; emotion claims come from the sellers
Female sex robots that move like people at doll prices
Independent tests: research with real sex robots barely exists
Humanoid robots that move do exist, and they are sold for other jobs. A companion robot shown at CES 2025 starts at $175,000 for the full-size moving version and is pitched for hospitality, companionship and education rather than as a sex robot. A newer 2026 model talks in over 100 languages and keeps eye contact through a camera.
Evidence is thin. A 2020 review found 98 publications on sex robots from 1993 to 2019, only 32 of them peer-reviewed and most of them theoretical, with no studies that used actual dolls or robots. A representative survey of 3,564 people in Germany found that 3.9% had used very realistic dolls or robots.
The same gap between headline and product shows up in 3D printed dolls.
Body heating: the smart feature XYcolo offers
Heating is the most practical smart feature on sale, and it is the one XYcolo builds in. XYcolo sells no talking or AI dolls; its technology goes into the body and face, with heating, movable eyes and, on a few heads, a hinged jaw. Heating arrived in January 2022 on the 151 cm AIO and later that year on the 153, 163 and 171 cm PRO bodies. The head itself is not heated.
01
Use the supplied adapter
XYcolo’s heated bodies run on 36 V power through a small adapter that ships with the doll.
02
Warm up for 1.5–2 hours
By XYcolo’s instructions, that is how long the body takes to reach its first warmth.
03
Top up in short sessions
After that, XYcolo describes about an hour of heating every 4–6 hours with the temperature control. It warns against heating longer than two hours at a time, since hot spots can pass 50 °C (122 °F).
04
Check by hand
Thicker areas warm more slowly. One owner found the limbs warm after about 90 minutes while hands and feet stayed cooler; the area near the connector got too hot, so the owner switched it off.
The same owner found the warmth lasted about two hours and summed it up as “Finally, no more cold silicone on a winter’s morn!” Warmth is one part of how a doll feels in real life, along with skin and weight.
Privacy, safety and import rules
AI features run through an app and, for the full set, a paid subscription. Public information about these products doesn’t say what data the app keeps, so get answers before you pay. An XYcolo doll has no AI or voice features, so there is no conversation data and no subscription to manage.
Data
Ask what the app records, where it is stored and how to delete it.
Subscription
Ask what still works if you cancel; the 2025 talking doll series charges from $100 for the first year.
Power and heat
Use only the supplied adapter and keep each heating session under two hours, as XYcolo advises.
Customs
Since 2022, South Korea’s customs service has flagged dolls with heating or voice functions as needing safety checks. Rules differ by country, so check yours before you order a heated doll.
Smart doll or lifelike XYcolo: how to decide
Buy for the body first. The doll decides weight, feel and durability for years, while an app and its AI model can change or stop with a subscription. If talking is the point, ask for a recorded demo of the exact version, the subscription terms and what works offline.
If realism matters more than conversation, XYcolo puts the choice where you can see and touch it: silicone grades from PS to multi-layer PRO, 38 heads by late 2023 with three more in 2025, six eye colors, implanted hair, brows and lashes as an option, and heating on selected bodies. Owners report receiving factory photos of their doll for approval before it ships.
Partly. You can buy dolls with a talking AI head, touch sensors and body heating, and humanoid robots that hold a conversation exist. A fully animated sex robot that moves on its own does not exist yet: by Wikipedia’s 2026 summary, current prototypes are rudimentary. Robots that do move start in the tens of thousands of dollars and aren’t sold as sex robots.
How much does a sex bot cost?
A talking AI doll series launched in China in 2025 sold for $1,600–2,000, with top versions near $3,000 and a subscription from $100 for the first year. A head-and-torso humanoid robot shown at CES 2025 started at $10,000, and a full-size robot that moves at $175,000. XYcolo’s silicone dolls, with no AI, started at $2,064 on sale in its own store in October 2026, with heating as a paid option.
Does XYcolo make a sex robot?
No. XYcolo does not sell talking or AI dolls and has no voice or motor features. Its work goes into the body and face: silicone in several grades, expressive heads with movable eyes, a hinged jaw on a few heads and body heating on selected bodies since 2022. Heating takes about 1.5–2 hours, and XYcolo warns against running it longer than two hours at a time.
Is a doll with AI safe for privacy?
It depends on the app, and little is published about it. AI features run through an app and often a paid subscription, so ask what the app records, where the data is stored, whether you can delete it and what still works if you cancel. An XYcolo doll has no AI or voice features, so it has nothing to record or send.
Can a sex robot move on its own?
Not at doll prices. Current products can answer in speech, show facial expressions on some heads and react to touch through sensors, but the body stays still unless you move it. Full-size humanoid robots that move on their own start at about $175,000, and they are presented as companions for hospitality or education rather than as sex robots.
